Dr. Echt is a board-certified cardiologist with international recognition in cardiac electrophysiology, and an entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. She is currently serving in a Medical Affairs and strategic clinical advisor role to InCarda as well as several other clinical stage cardiovascular companies. She previously co-founded EBR Systems, Inc., a medical device company pursuing novel approaches to cardiac pacing. Prior to this venture, she held Chief Medical Officer and V.P. level positions in Clinical and Regulatory Affairs at other cardiac device companies: Timi3 Systems, Inc, Xoft MicroTube, and Cardiac Pathways Corp.
Dr. Echt was a Consulting Associate Professor of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine and Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of the Arrhythmia Section at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. While at Vanderbilt she held a concurrent position as a consultant and member of the US FDA’s Circulatory System Device Advisory panel. Dr. Echt’s educational background includes an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Purdue University, an MD from Case Western Reserve University, and cardiology fellowship training at Stanford University.
