Renata brings over 17 years of experience in Project and Portfolio Management, Development Operations, and Operational Excellence. Prior to joining InCarda, Renata was most recently the Portfolio and Project Management lead for the Virology Therapeutic Area (TA) at Gilead Sciences, where in partnership with the Development TA head, she ensured strategic goals and deliverables were defined and met throughout the lifecycle of multiple assets.

Before joining Gilead, Renata held leadership positions in Project Management and Operational Excellence at Pharmacyclics, an AbbVie Company, and at AbbVie. While at Pharmacyclics, as a Global Project Management Office leader, Renata held both GPMO Operations and Asset Management responsibilities. As the head of Operational Excellence for Global Development Operations, Renata launched and led a brand-new function that drove a variety of continuous improvement and optimization initiatives across the department. During her time at AbbVie, Renata also led the Pharmacyclics’ “post-acquisition” integration activities for Development Operations (DevOps). As such, she ensured the successful transition of all Pharmacyclics studies into AbbVie’s DevOps environment. Prior to Pharmacyclics, Renata’s responsibilities included roles in Clinical Study Planning and Clinical Research Management at Amgen, and Clinical Operations at Genentech and Novacea. She has worked across multiple therapeutic areas, including, but not limited to, Virology, Oncology, Cardiology, Nephrology, and Inflammation.

Renata holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Cal State Dominguez Hills, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and a Project Management Professional Certification (PMP). She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education in Organizational Change and Leadership at the University of Southern California.
